In prior hemp farming years, we’ve suffered negative experiences with un-reputable seed breeders. The misfortune we’ve went through when trying to take shortcuts on genetics, has led us to partner with the #1 and #2 hemp genetic breeders in the world to provide our farmers with the best quality genetics. Because of their legendary reputation, the market price for their limited genetics is currently $1.00 per feminized seed.
Last season, based on our data, the germination rate ranged 55%-85% from farmers that drilled directly into the soil. Due to the variables associated with drill planting a seed directly into the soil, and the expense and limited availability of the quality seed, we are recommending that:
A. The farmer buys $1.00 feminized seed and propagates them in elle pots wihtin 72-120 count trays inside of a greenhouse or indoor facility 45 days before planting.
B. Once the feminized seedling is grown approximately 8”-10” tall, the farmer then transplants into the field with our recommended transplanter.
This allows the farmer to receive best quality, first generation genetics, with a taproot for a much heartier, hail resilient, and higher yielding plant. We offer a full guarantee on germination, but only if our detailed propagation standard operating procedure is followed.
Drip Irrigation and Plastic Mulch
The best looking hemp fields we’ve seen have had drip systems installed to provide consistent and controlled watering/feeding to the hemp plants. Hermaphrodite plants are a high cbd hemp farmers worst enemy due to potential pollination. Hermaphrodite plants show both male and female sex properties and are typically caused by instability and stress within the genetics. Providing consistent water and food intake provides the best yielding plants and also reduces the risk of stressing the plant out and causing it to hermaphrodite. Again, drip irrigation reduces the risk of your field being pollinated and devalued. We can provide installation of these systems.
Weeds have been problematic for farmers throughout the farming season. Plastic mulch installation is performed by one of our recommended machines that we can either sell, rent, or offer the custom service to you, depending on our availability within your area.
To help insure germination rates and maximum yields, we recommend propagating our seeds and transplanting the feminized seedlings in the mounded plastic rows, with drip irrigation. We can sell, rent, and offer the custom service to you depending on availability in your area. Seedlings/clones should be grown 8”-14” tall to improve overall efficiencies with the planting system.
In the high-cbd flower farming, males, hermaphrodites, and pollination are our main enemies. Because of the trial and error we’ve experienced over the years, pulling all males in a field is a process that you take lightly. We’ve witnessed losses of up to 95% because of pollination. Pollination forces the impregnated female plant to produce more seeds rather than cannabinoid production. Pollinated fields that had the potential of 15%-20% CBD were producing a low 4%-6% CBD. With the labs prioritizing 12%-20% CBD and the bottom being 10%, we want to insure that farmers are not only growing the hemp, but are also cashing in as soon as possible after the harvest. We can provide the guidance and standard operating procedures to perform this independently or offer the service depending on availability in your area.
